HGH-Human Growth Hormone
HGH-produced by the anterior pituitary gland under the stimulation of the
hypothalamus.Normally 500 micrograms of HGH present at any time in the
blood of male between ages of 20 & 30. HGH starts to decline in the body as
we grow older. After the age of 30 it declines by 25%
every decade; so by the time you reach 60 you are
operating at 25% of the original capacity. If HGH was
present in the same amount throughout our lives we’d
easily live to 140,be several inches taller & a lot more
muscular.
Stimulators of HGH:
? Peptide hormones
Somatocrinin through
GHRHR
Ghrelin through GHSR
? Sex hormones
Increased androgen
secretion during puberty
Estrogen
? Clonidine & L-DOPA by stimulating
GHRH release
? Nicotine
? Hypoglycemia, Arginine & Propranolol
by inhibiting somatostatin release
? Deep sleep – 75% of the HGH released
during the REM stage of sleep
? Niacin or Vitamin B3
? Fasting & Vigorous Exercise
