FORWARD MARTIN MCKERVEY PARTNER, NABARRO LLP AND PRIVATE SECTOR BOARD MEMBER, SCR LEP NEW MEMBERS SUPPLY CHAINS - THE KEY TO UNLOCKING ECONOMIC GROWTH It gives me great pleasure to introduce this issue of Medilink News and its focus on the supply chain. Supply chains are key to our City Regions and are a driver of the Strategic Economic Plan, which laid the foundations for the City Deal, the Growth Deal and the Devolution Deal which the Sheffield City Region secured with government. These Deals are significant because they will enable the City Region to have a stronger private sector that can compete in national and global supply chains. We have a world class Growth Hub which has the ability to provide tailored support for businesses including business advice and planning, innovation assistance, access to finance, supportive infrastructure, skills and development. The healthcare sector is crucial for our regional economy and is a sector we are very active in at Nabarro. We see many world-class healthcare technology businesses leading in supply chains shaped by innovation. We must support this ‘engine of growth’ and businesses aspiring to compete in supply chain opportunities. The development of the Advanced Wellbeing Research Centre in Sheffield is the latest example of the region’s ability to strive for new opportunities in healthcare technologies. The City Region has a unique position as a key B2B supply chain designer and manufacturer in sectors where we have particular specialisms such as healthcare. Our aim is to restructure the City Region economy towards high value, knowledge and data led business activities. Developing the cluster of activity around our knowledge economy is key to winning and succeeding in supply chains. Turn to pages 4 and 5 to read a feature about the importance of supply chains. www.nabarro.com L @Nabarro_MF 02 Dignity Wear Limited (Corporate) Bradford-based Dignity Wear Limited produces an innovative and pioneering undergarment, designed to give women privacy during routine gynaecological procedures.
