INTERNATIONAL THE IMPACT OF COVID-19 ON EXHIBITIONS AND CONFERENCES Covid-19 has had a profound impact on the way we do business and interact personally. Numerous exhibitions and conferences throughout 2020 were cancelled or postponed as result of countries around the world going in to ‘lock down’. The paramount consideration of Medilink UK in relation to our overseas events programme has always been the safety and security of our clients and employees. In that regard Medilink has pushed and supported the cancellation and postponement of a large number of events around the world. After careful and extensive consideration, the decision was made to support the Medica 2020 and Arab Health 2021 exhibitions. MEDILINK APPOINTED DIT NORTHERN POWERHOUSE STRATEGIC SECTOR LEAD Medilink North of England’s International Director, Tom Elliott, has been appointed to the role of DIT Healthcare and Life Sciences Specialist for the Northern Powerhouse, working with and on behalf of Healthcare, Life Science, Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical businesses. The role will help shape the development and provide delivery for a strategic sector plan, engaging key companies across the North of England, developing commercial relationships for the region with overseas agencies, governments and wider stakeholders. The role will link into existing DIT networks, sector and regional specialists to provide a greater link across the Northern region, after life sciences being identified as one of the key sectors in which the Northern Powerhouse excels, and is part of the UK Government’s ‘levelling up’ agenda.
