INCORPORATING
THE MEDILINK
WINTER BA LL
the
MEDILINK
AWARDS 2014
Medilink Yorkshire and Humber will stage its biggest ever event at
Sheffield City Hall on December 11th - the Medilink Winter Ball and Awards.
Supported by the Yorkshire and Humber Academic Health Science Network.
The black-tie event will see 200 guests begin the evening
with a champagne reception, live music from the region’s
leading string quartet and a three course seasonal menu
in the grand ballroom.
England Rugby Union legend Brian Moore will then provide
entertainment with an after-dinner speech about his life
and career. Brian gained 64 caps in the England team
that won three Grand Slams in the 1990s, and was named
Whitbread World Rugby Player of the Year in 1991. Brian is
now a sports broadcaster and author.
This will be followed by a charity auction on behalf of
Yorkshire cancer charity, Candlelighters - and then the
presentation of the Medilink Awards.
Kevin Kiely, Managing Director of
Medilink Yorkshire & Humber, said:
“The Medilink Awards recognises
the achievements that are being
made on a daily basis to improve patient care and generate
economic growth and we’re looking forward to celebrating those
successes at our fantastic new event - the Medilink Winter Ball.”
The event will conclude with live entertainment and dancing until
the close at 1am.

In the Sheffield City Region the fully funded training programme
Ascend - will be delivered by Medilink Yorkshire & Humber and
will focus on two key areas identified by companies in the sector
as skills gaps - Innovation and UK Market Access.
The UK Market Access Certificate will focus on areas such as
healthcare sector specific public relations, marketing and social
media, with the Innovation Certificate exploring processes
including healthcare sector innovation approaches, concept
development and opportunity identification.
The identification of the skills gaps was driven by the Sheffield City
Region LEP Health Tech Sector Steering Group - a group made of
company leaders and other leading stakeholders from the region.
The training programme was then developed by Medilink Yorkshire
& Humber following its commission by national skills agency,
Ingeus, with funding from the European Social Fund.
Medilink is also set to launch the Science Industry Partnership
programme, a national initiative that will offer part-funded
training support across the Yorkshire and Humber region for
Healthcare Technology Sector SMEs.
Additional training covering export and internationalisation has
just been added. Further details will be announced shortly.
