HEALTHCARE BUSINESS AWARDS 2021 the best in THE Sector

Vaccines Minister introduces Medilink Healthcare Business Awards 2021 , as North of England celebrates its achievements

Nadhim Zahawi MP , Minister for COVID Vaccine Deployment , opened the virtual Medilink North of England 2021 Healthcare Business Awards on 29 June . The Minister praised the NHS , academia and industry across the North for their crucial work undertaken during the pandemic and vaccine roll-out .
The awards saw a huge number of competitive applications across the eight categories and was preceded by an interesting panel discussion on the Future of Healthcare , which included :

• Steve Bagshaw , former chairman and CEO , FujiFilm Diosynth Biotechnologies & Industry Advisor to the Vaccine Task Force
• Chris Yates , Chief Executive , Abingdon Health
• Richard Jones , Chair - Materials Physics and Innovation Policy , University of Manchester
• Richard Stubbs , Vice-Chair , AHSN Network & CEO , Yorkshire & Humber AHSN
The winners were : Innovation Award – Abingdon Health
Abingdon Health specialises in the development , manufacture and commercialisation of lateral flow immunoassay tests and reader systems .
Export Achievement Award – EthOss Regeneration
EthOss was developed with the needs of dentists in mind . It goes beyond grafts and artificial scaffolds to deliver True Host Bone Regeneration . EthOss is proven to grow new bone faster , with low reported pain .
Advances in Digital Healthcare Award – Mastercall Healthcare
Mastercall Healthcare is an innovative and patient-focused provider of ‘ out of hospital ’ healthcare and provide a range of services across the North West , covering a patient population of around 3 million .
Primary Care Award – PCMIS Health Technologies
PCMIS Health Technologies specialise in technology solutions designed to help mental healthcare providers effectively manage their services , whilst improving access and treatment outcomes for patients .

Acute Care Award – Inhealthcare
Inhealthcare is a UK leader in digital health and remote patient monitoring . Its technology enables the NHS to deliver more care outside of hospitals to reduce pressures on overstretched NHS services .
Start Up Award – LUNAC Therapeutics
LUNAC Therapeutics develops a first-in-class , next generation oral anticoagulant for the treatment and prevention of life-threatening thrombotic events .
Partnership with Academia Award – AI Rehab with University of Central Lancashire
AI Rehab designs and manufactures remote monitoring wearables for patients with hip and knee conditions . It was developed by a surgeon who tapped into mentoring from UCLan to help to turn his business idea into reality .
Outstanding Achievement Award – Bluetree Group
Last year Bluetree Group stepped up to help the NHS by founding Bluetree Medical and manufacturing surgical grade face masks right here in the UK . The judges were particularly impressed by Bluetree Group ’ s commitment – “ if it could be done , they did it !”
Kevin Kiely , CEO of Medilink North of England , said : “ Huge congratulations to the winners and shortlisted organisations that have all demonstrated their ability to do extraordinary things when faced with unprecedented challenges of a global pandemic . A key take home message from the Minister and from the panellists discussing the ‘ Future of Healthcare ’, was the need to maintain the unique level of collaboration and partnership working that had accelerated our Covid-19 response . This a ‘ once in a lifetime ’ challenge which we should all embrace .”
