AFRICA’S LARGEST HEALTHCARE TECHNOLOGY EXHIBITION
Medilink and UK Trade and Investment (UKTI) are offering
companies the opportunity to raise their profile and do
business with the growing African Healthcare Market.
Africa Health is the largest healthcare exhibition in the
expanding Sub-Sahara African region with last year’s
event attracting over 5,000 attendees and 380 exhibitors
from 53 countries.
Following successful events in 2012 and 2013 Medilink
will be organising the UK Pavilion at Africa Health 2014.
The UK Pavilion includes UKTI TAP funding of up to
£3,000 for eligible companies (see more details about
TAP funding in the story below).
The event package includes pre-event support and advice
from Medilink and UKTI as well as ‘in market’ assistance
during the event.
The exhibition will take place in Johannesburg, South
Africa, from 6-8 May 2014.

UKTI INCREASES TAP GRANTS
FOCUS ON: BARBER HEALTHCARE
Barber Healthcare is a
specialist manufacturer

performance medical
grade disposable gloves.
The company currently exports into 28 different market
sectors across Europe, Australasia and the Americas.
They recently established successful penetration
into the Tattoo and Body Modification sector across
several Eastern European countries with one of its

UK Trade & Investment’s Tradeshow Access
Programme (TAP) Grant funding has been increased
across the board and businesses can now receive up
to £3,000 to attend overseas trade shows.
Barber Healthcare’s current export activity is focused on
the expansion of business with existing customers whilst
also developing into other geographical regions through
their strongest market sectors.
TAP funding provides grants and support for eligible
SMEs to attend trade shows overseas. From August
1 the level of grant available increased along with the
introduction of a grant for first-time exhibitors into
high growth markets.
