healthcare, and education will be critical.
Over recent years Yorkshire and Humber
has led the way in establishing a number
of successful collaborations which
have seen new medical treatments and
devices rapidly taken from concept to
development. Many of these innovations
are now benefitting patients not just in
the region but worldwide.
It gives me great pleasure to
welcome you to this edition of
Medilink News.
The NHS is a recognised leader in
invention, but if we are to become a
world leader in innovation, fostering
partnerships which bring together the
expertise and knowledge of industry,
The newly-established Academic Health
Science Network (AHSN) for Yorkshire
and the Humber is another exciting
opportunity for organisations to work
together to help deliver a step change in
health and wealth.
Over the next five years, the AHSN for
Yorkshire and the Humber will act as key
driver for innovative collaborative efforts,
creating and harnessing a strong and
purposeful partnership between patients,
health services, industry, and academia
to significantly improve the health and
wealth of the population.
