Medihelp Sunrise Monster : Join 6 000 runners @ sunrise
It is that time of the year again : Time to get moving @ sunrise with the Medihelp Sunrise Monster . The race , normally attracting more than 6 000 runners and walkers , is held at the Harlequin Club in Groenkloof , Pretoria on 2 March 2024 .
This year Medihelp is pulling out all the stops to make this a memorable event for everyone : The 32km Sunrise Monster provides the perfect challenge for serious runners as the ultimate Comrades conditioner . If you ’ re into shorter distances or just want to enjoy an active and fun-filled day with family , friends or colleagues , you can also enter the 21km Half Monster , 10km Mini Monster , or 5km Baby Monster .
We will also make sure the kids are kept busy in a specially cordoned off play area with jumping castles , obstacle courses , and entertainers .
Water points will be available every 3 km and Netcare 911 will provide medical support en route as well as at the finish .
To minimise the impact of events on the environment , Medihelp encourages runners to use their own pre-filled water bottles and hydration packs when participating in the Sunrise Monster .
In the weeks leading up to the event , we will also run a Spot the Monster competition on our www . medihelp . co . za . All you have to do is find one of the Sunrise Monsters hidden around the website to stand a chance to win 1 of 3 Garmin Forerunner 245 music smart watches .
We want to invite runners and walkers from all over Gauteng and surrounding provinces to take part in this epic race and fun-filled event , and take home a medal for your efforts . It promises to be one for the books !

The 45th Edition of the Medihelp Sunrise Monster , hosted by Harlequin Harriers , will be taking place on 2 March 2024 at the Harlequin Club in Groenkloof , Pretoria . This prestigious race is one of the oldest races in Pretoria .
We have a race distance for everyone ! The race distances include the 32km Monster , the 21km Half Monster , the 10km Mini Monster , and the 5km Baby Monster . If you are planning to run Comrades this year , you cannot afford to miss out on our flagship race . This is because our 32km Monster is the ultimate Comrades conditioner . Both the 32km Monster and the 21km Half Monster start at 06:03 . You might be wondering why we start at such a random time ? Well , this is the official sunrise time ! Hence the name Sunrise Monster . The 10km Mini Monster will start at 06:30 , and the 5km Baby Monster will start at 06:45 . There will be ample fluid available on the course , with waterpoints strategically placed approximately every 3km . The waterpoint teams will also be there to give you a little extra encouragement to get you up those hills !
