Your Career Prospects
MSO are commissioned into the rank of Flying Officer with an award of one year’ s seniority. Additional seniority up to the rank of Flight Lieutenant with 2 year’ s seniority may be awarded for previous military service. Additional seniority is awarded on a case-by-case basis.
Promotion to Flight Lieutenant will be awarded on reaching 4 years’ seniority in Flying Officer rank, satisfactory service, and positive recommendation for promotion.
All further promotions will be by competitive selection and subject to requirement to fill established posts.
Your Engagement
Your engagement will be for 12 years on an Initial Commission.
The minimum annual commitment is 27 Reserve Service Days( RSDs) broken down into 15 RSDs Annual Continuous Training( ACT) and 12 days Non-Continuous Training( NCT).
