Specialisation Overview
• To provide world-leading air and space medical capabilities that are agile, adaptable and fully integrated into multi-domain operations.
• Our medical capabilities will enable the full spectrum of UK military tasks, at home and globally.
• Military tasks will be delivered by highly qualified, experienced and motivated people who understand the unique features of the air and space environment.
Medical Support Officers play a vital role in providing Health Service Support to RAF and wider Defence operations at home and overseas.
As an MSO, you could be deployed on operations or exercises in a primary or secondary care facility, in the aeromedical evacuation chain or in medical planning and intelligence, ensuring coherent, safe, medical care for the deployed force.
You may develop specialist skills in support of healthcare governance and global health engagement.
You will join your nearest geographically located RAF Medical Reserve unit:
• 612 Squadron at Leuchars Station, Fife.
• 4626 Squadron at RAF Brize Norton, Oxfordshire.
• 502 Squadron at Flying Station Aldergrove, Northern Ireland or
• 600 Squadron at RAF Northolt, Middlesex.
