SNOWBOARDS
The profile shape has changed dramatically over the past few years, particularly the contours on the bottom of the board. It’ s moved from a traditional‘ camber’ shape( plenty of daylight underneath when the board is flat on the ground) to‘ rocker’ which is, in effect,‘ camber’ turned upside down. This minimises the likelihood of your board catching an edge in soft powder conditions and you ending up on your bottom in the wet snow. Most snowboarders opt for mid-range boards. They’ re quite easy to ride at the novice level but sophisticated enough to allow more advanced manoeuvres as the rider progresses.
