Medical Conditions That Could Preclude Entry 29 Aug 23 | Page 2

OVERVIEW
Candidates joining the RAF must be medically fully fit , both physically and psychologically , to meet the challenges of military service , during which they will be expected to deploy , potentially at short notice , to locations world-wide that are remote from established medical care .
Please note that candidates undergoing or waiting for medical or surgical procedures , or who are yet to be stabilised on permitted treatment , are normally unfit .
If you have ( or have had ) any of the medical conditions listed below , you do not meet the current medical entry standards required to enter the Royal Air Force , although some conditions are acceptable after a specified period of recovery . It is important to note this list is NOT exhaustive and is provided for guidance only , and other exclusion criteria may be identified during your subsequent full entry medical examination .
Please note that this list is provided for guidance only and Recruiting staff are not medically qualified to advise . Therefore , if you have a medical condition which is not included on the list , please continue your application and your eligibility will be assessed at the medical examination stage .
