Course Overview:
This City & Guilds Assured course will provide you with the skills and knowledge required to carry out Authorised Person duties and responsibilities in compliance with safety rules and procedures which meet the requirements of the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989. It will also help in meeting the competency requirements identified in BS EN 61821:2011- Electrical Installations for Lighting and Beaconing of Aerodromes- Maintenance of Aeronautical Ground Lighting Constant Current Series Circuits. In addition, delegates may also apply the knowledge gained from this course to the AGL systems found on the MoD Estate. MoD Electrical Safety Rules and Procedures for a Safe System of Work when working on or testing AGL circuits will be discussed, with the aim of satisfying the requirements of JSP 375 Volume 3.
Who Is This Course For:
This course is designed for engineering staff with responsibility for the control, operation or maintenance of installed AGL systems and who may be appointed as Authorised Person Electrical( AGL). It is suitable for individual Civil Airport AGL Safety Rules and Procedures. It may also be suitable for staff currently appointed as an Authorised Person Electrical( HV / LV), who are being considered for appointment to cover MoD airfield lighting systems. It will provide an introduction to Airfield Lighting systems currently designed in accordance with MAA Regulatory Article 3515 and earlier documents used on the MoD Estate.
