Course Overview:
This City & Guilds Assured course has been developed to provide delegates with a basic knowledge of electrical theory as well as an understanding of electrical machine principles and isolation requirements of electrical plant for mechanical work.
Who Is This Course For:
This course is aimed at those working within a mechanical and electrical environment who would benefit from increased awareness of electrical principles and practices as part of their current role. It is also a good foundation course for those likely to undertake other electrical courses.

• Requirements of the Electricity at Work Regulations and dangers of electricity
• Requirements of BS7671:2018( 2024)
• Electrical safe systems of work including practical isolation exercises
• Electrical series and parallel circuit theory and practical exercises
• Compliance with GS38 and the safe use of measuring instruments
• Low Voltage protection devices / relays / solenoids and contactors
• Single and three phase motors and associated starters
• Identification and verification of electric motor and starter wiring
• Introduction to Inverter drives
• Introduction to fault finding
• Final practical and written assessments
