Course Overview :
This City & Guilds Assured course will provide you with knowledge and understanding of Aeronautical Ground Lighting ( AGL ) systems found on the MoD Estate . It will also explain typical AGL primary series circuits , power supply equipment and the associated hazards of working on them . The application of MoD ' s Electrical Safety Rules and Procedures to provide a safe system of work when working on or testing AGL circuits will also be discussed . The course is designed to satisfy the requirements of JSP 375 Volume 3 . It will also help in meeting the competency requirements identified in both the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 and BS EN 61821:2011 - Electrical Installations for Lighting and Beaconing of Aerodromes - Maintenance of Aeronautical Ground Lighting Constant Current Series Circuits .
Who Is This Course For :
This course is designed for staff currently appointed as an Authorised Person Electrical ( HV / LV ), who are being considered for appointment to cover MoD airfield lighting systems . It will provide an introduction to Airfield Lighting systems currently designed in accordance with MAA Regulatory Article 3515 and earlier documents used on the MoD Estate . Potential delegates should already be familiar with MoD Electrical safety documents and procedures .
