TY English Portfolio Activity: Write a formal letter to Jeffrey Seller the American theatrical producer of ‘Hamilton’. ‘Hamilton’ is currently available on Disney+ if you’re interested! Seller is going to produce a new version of ‘Blood Brothers’ for 2021 in the West End, London. Write a letter of appreciation to Seller in which you outline your knowledge of the play, your favourite ‘Blood Brothers’ character and casting & production ideas. Help with a formal letter format is on the next page. Blood Brothers” Formal Letter Writing Plan TY English Credits Task 1. Start with an opening statement and brief paragraph that explain exactly why you are writing. 2. The second paragraph should explain the social and historical setting of the play and how this affects your chosen favourite character. 3. The third/fourth paragraph should describe the appearance, speech, gestures and motivation of this character. (Remember to include quotations act and scene number to show greater understanding and improve the quality of your letter). 4. The fifth/sixth paragraph should discuss his/her personality and their relationships with other characters. (In this section, you should make recommendations of how an actor can play this character and perhaps someone famous who would suit the role and why) 5. The seventh paragraph should discuss the role that this character has in the play and any important speeches she/he has to perform and any production ideas for these scenes. 6. The final paragraph would thank Sellers for taking the time to read your letter and considering your production ideas and casting. 7.
