THEY ' RE ' LAVIN ' AT US OUT THERE LADS ! - Mr Ryan
McLoughlin masterclass not enough as MCC fall to Dunlavin 4-2 . Look , we can all wax lyrical when we win , we let ' s see how good we can do when we lose ! While Storm Barra left the Moyglare Colosseum largely untouched , the St . Kevin ' s Dunlavin senior soccer team whipped up a bit of consternation after school on Friday showing the Moyglare Massive some sleek moves that left MCC like worn velcro - struggling to get a grip !
In what was a major step up in competition , the lads took longer to settle and came to realise that lapses in concentration could be brutally punished , by a well drilled outfit . After falling behind to a quick counter attack , the starting XI were galvanised into action and began to get a foot on the ball and started to spray the ball around . ' 3 Lung ' Liam Curley toiled on the wing tirelessly and started to put Dunlavin on the back foot with some intrepid runs , while the dual Ethans up top , Moodley and McLoughlin began to show their attacking punch stretching Kevin ' s back 4 . This pressure told when E = Mc ² latched onto a ball on the left wing , beat 2 on the edge of the box and unleashed an absolute snot-rocket into top bins . Only for the strength of the new nets , Ethan ' s effort was Manor Mills bound , such was the ferocity of the effort . After a messy ( but still coordinated ) Griddy Celebratory Dance , MCC proved to be the better team for the rest of the half , before cruelly conceding on the stroke of half time , after a defensive mix up .
The second half followed a similar pattern to the first , as Dunlavin took over early on and added a 3rd goal , leaving us with a mini mountain to climb . With this , Roan ' Goal ' Hunter Lynam turned provider and began showing a range of passing not seen since Paulie Scholes was twitting ball around Old Trafford . These 60 yard crossfield dingers took the Brick Wall no . 4 out of the game for Dunlavin briefly and allowed Ethan Mc to ghost free and conjure up another goal to add life to our fading challenge . Ethan Moodley saw an effort cleared off the line shortly after , having showed his blistering pace once more after latching onto a Roan through ball . Despite a few shake ups , Dunlavin settled and added another goal to put the game to bed effectively . Despite a late battering at the door , we could not close the gap and move onto next week needed a win vs Heywood to progress . Prayers Up .
Despite the loss , it was another super shift from all involved with Seanie ' Wordsmith ' O ' Sullivan deputising well at centre half , Roan Hunter Lynam showing flashes of genius ( and madness ) in midfield and the two Ethan ' s , Moodley and McLoughlin proving a thorn in the side for the Dunlavin defence all afternoon . We ' ll drive on to next week , with the same passion , vigour and arsenal of coordinated celebrations as is expected of the squad .
