World Wise Global Schools Diplomatic Global Passport Award

We are delighted to have been awarded the World Wise Global Schools Diplomatic Global Passport Award ! The Global Passport Award is an EU recognised quality mark , which offers schools a framework to integrate Global Citizenship Education into their teaching and learning . It is a self-assessed and externally-audited accreditation and it is open to all post-primary schools in Ireland . This is a great achievement for our school so a big thank you and congratulations is extended to all the students and teachers who helped achieve this prestigious award .

Wellbeing Week

Wellbeing Week at MEC took place on the 19 th October . The Wellbeing team put together a wonderful blended programme of on site and online events to cater for our school community both present and learning from home . Below are the highlights from the week :
This Years Theme : Always a Bright Side Daily Affirmations Guided Meditations Random Acts of Kindness Nature Walks Year Group Table Quizzes MEC Bake Off Challenge Staff yoga , meditation & running Photography Challenge Thursday : Non-Uniform Day - Bright Colours
Last year ( academic ) was an extremely successful year for our hurlers . The U16 team won the Dublin B Championship . For the first time in Maynooth ' s history , the Senior team played in the Schools Dublin A Championship and after a tremendous campaign , reached the final . On Sept . 27 th they got together and presented their coaches , Mr . Hogan , Mr . Ryan and Mr . Walshe with a token of thanks for their hardwork , enthusiasm and support . The lads in turn were presented with some lovely new gear very generously sponsored by Westin Homes and Accenture . A big thank you to both companies . We look forward to the day when school hurling starts again . Well done lads on a great year !
GOAL Jersey Day took place Friday the 23rd of
October . Students were encouraged to wear their county colours , favourite football / rugby team ' s jersey or whatever jersey they may have had at home ! Students were asked to make a € 2 donation to GOAL which was collected at the entrances of the school .
GOAL Jersey Day sees communities across Ireland coming together and wearing their favourite jerseys to support GOAL ' s work with vulnerable communities . All support was very much appreciated .
