Christmas Shoe Box Appeal MEC Chamber Choir
Our school community donated 170 gift
filled show boxes in aid of Team Hope.
We broke our 2018 record. Thanks to all. The MEC Chamber Choir performing to Maltese
& Irish dignatories at the Christmas Choir
Festival in Malta at the beginning of December.
MEC Is ‘All Shook Up’
As 2020 Musical Gets Underway

We are delighted to inform you that the 2020
TY musical is none other than ‘All Shook Up’.
Our musical will be run from Tuesday,
February 4th to Sunday, February 9th, 2020.
This American jukebox musical follows Chad,
‘a
good
looking,
motorcycle-riding
roustabout, who rides from town with a
guitar on his back, blue suede shoes on his
feet and a song in his heart’. It will feature
music from the Elvis Presley songbook.
MEC’s annual School Musical takes place
every February. Participation is mandatory
for Transition Years and students can choose
from a wide range of roles such as
performance-based roles to the art team to
set construction.

We have come a long way from
our very first MPP musical which
was established in 1995 with the
successful staging of ‘Oliver’ and
since 2012, the musical has
become established as a core
module for Transition Year.
Preparation on our 2020 musical
is well underway. We have
worked through fourth-round
auditions and the cast has now
been
set
with.

announcement will follow soon as
rehearsals start early January. ‘All
Shook Up is the 26th musical from
Maynooth and we hope you all
come see us perform!
