I can’t believe they sent me into exile seriously what did I do? Just because I got into some of the scientist’s chemicals and got turned into a red and blue penguin doesn’t mean I don’t have feelings. They also said this was supposed to be like a “permanent vacation” when it is really a frozen hell. They always hated me anyways. They made fun of my name on a daily basis. What is so weird about the name Pete? There are no other penguins up here, only glaciers. I’m expecting to see Santa with his enslaved elves any minute. I kind of want to ride a reindeer. But there is nothing but barren ice, and if you haven’t figured out where I am, shame on you, I won’t tell you.

I guess I should stop ranting to you poor people, well at this point you’re not poor, you have taken over the entire planet and went to outer space. Do you never feel satisfied? I mean seriously...wait I’m going off topic aren’t I, sorry, anyways moving on. So now I’m all alone with just cold water and ice, what to do? Make friends with polar bears, duh. I met this one named Polly when I first landed. He showed me the best place to see the lights from. He even helped me make my igloo home, Polly is a really awesome polar bear, you should meet him.

There is a research group coming in three weeks and I want to give them a show they will never forget. I’m going to build the most epic ice-water slide ever, with Polly’s help. We have to find a place to build it, I think the tallest glacier will work. It already has water running off it. If we can direct the water it will carve the slide for us, which will make less work for us. The slide will be awesome, I want to be the first one to test it. Polly is a bit of a scare-bear, he is afraid of a lot of things.

It took us about two weeks to build the slide, it felt like it took forever. The researchers will be here in five days, we have to make sure the slide works and it isn’t too dangerous, I don’t want to hurt myself. Tomorrow is the first test run for it, I’m kind of nervous about it. I really hope it goes well, this is my distraction from my exile. Polly also helps, he is a lot of fun to hang out with. He is all by himself, like me, he doesn’t have a family. We even made him an igloo that’s next to mine. We became great neighbors, and best friends.

Today was the day of the first test run, it went great, and we will keep testing it till the researchers arrive. This is going to be awesome, I hope the humans like it. Polly is even getting excited about it now. Four days left, time to prepare to meet the humans. I wonder if the humans will like our slide, it will probably be too cold for them to use it, but the polar bears could to get to the swimming area Polly and I made.

The slide is still working, the water is running faster and we had to make the swimming area connect to the ocean or it would overflow into where the researcher’s lab is going to be. Polly heard from the other polar bears that the researchers would be arriving a day early, which will leave two days left. That is fine, everything is going great with the slide, and Polly and I even had the idea of a show after we demonstrate the slide. The seals have agreed to do a small swimming show for the humans.

The humans will arrive tomorrow. The seals have decided not to do the show. What is wrong with the seals? Are they afraid of the humans of what? Polly said we could still do the slide demonstration. Polly is great, he still wants to continue forward with me, he is the best friend I have ever had. I hope it goes well, the water rose again and we had to expand the swimming area again, we expanded extra so we had space tomorrow.

Today is the day, the researchers have arrived and they already have their lab build. It is time to test the slide one last time before we show the humans. It is quite the climb to the top of the slide, but the ride down is fast and fun. Except this last test slide didn’t go very well, I was descending at such a high speed I didn’t land in the swimming area, I skipped across the surface and slide right into the researcher’s lab. They found me very interesting, one wanted to dissect me, another thought I was a stuffed toy, and the big guy put me into a cage to be examined, whatever that means.

They did all kinds of tests and poked me constantly, until Polly paid me a visit. He just walked right up to the window next to my cage and told me he had a plan and all I had to do was get out of my cage and wait till sunset. I can manage that much, the keys are always on the researcher who thought I was a stuffed animal. She is very naive, I can get the keys by distracting her and then when the big guy comes to yell at her I can grab the keys and hide it under my fish that’s in the food bowl.

I got the keys, my cage is unlocked and the researchers haven’t noticed yet. What is Polly planning to do anyways? That’s when the water started to enter the room, it was coming from outside and just kept flowing in. That was my cue to jump out the open window while the researches were distracted. But when I was out the window everything looked different, there was more water than usual. That’s when Polly came into view, he was floating past on a chunk of ice that had two igloos on it. I started waddling towards it when the humans started screaming. I jumped on the floating ice at the last possible second, and we sailed into the sunset.

I later asked Polly what happened and he said there was a giant flood that was slowly moving across the glacier and that our slide sped it up. He predicted that it would flood our section of the glacier any day and he and the other polar pears moved some ice to have it happen today in order to save me. That is the most anyone has ever done for me, I told him thank you and we floated off to wherever we landed. Best friends off on a new adventure together.
