Early Childhood Model Seder

Here’s what an Early Childhood Model Seder looks like: The children’s tables are covered with tablecloths. There are beautiful flowers in vases on the tables. Seder plates are in the center of each table, along with silver Kiddush cups, plates of matza, beautiful plates and napkins. Surrounding the tables are children dressed in their finest Shabbat clothes wearing smiles of anticipation and excitement.
Here’s what an Early Childhood Model Seder sounds like: Silence as Kiddush is made by Rabbi Yablok or Rabbi Litton. Then it begins…the voices of the children led by their teachers. Voices singing the Kadesh- Urchatz (order of the Seder )song, voices singing Dayeinu, the makkot, all the brachot for all of the mitzvot of the evening, Who knows One and Chad Gadya. An Early Childhood Model Seder includes lots of leaning, dipping, washing, passing, searching , and lots of laughing.
Here’s what an Early Childhood Model Seder feels like: Exciting, warm, inviting, fun and memorable. What a wonderful opportunity we had to spend quality time together in our classrooms preparing for Pesach with our friends.
I am so proud of our teachers for making this event feel SO good and I am most proud of our students who gave us their best. L’shana Habaah B’Yerushalayim.
