People of the Past, Inspirations for the Future

by Andy Samuels, 3C

Our recent third grade book report assignment was to read a biography. Each of us chose a book about someone who inspired us or someone we found interesting to read about.

After reading and writing our reports we presented and dressed up as “our person”. We all got a chance to listen to each other and ask questions about so many interesting and famous people.

Did you know that Tom Carvel started the 2-for-1 and invented soft ice cream? King Tut was already married and became king at the age of 10. He died at the age of 18.

Jane Goodall studied chimpanzees and taught them sign language.

The best part of the project was presentation day when we talked about “our lives.” I loved dressing up in an old Brooklyn Dodgers Jackie Robinson uniform.
