Pink Day 2014 at MDS was a hit! Students and teachers from grades 4-8 dressed up in pink and pink merchandise was sold. Why you ask? To raise awareness about breast cancer. We participated, along with many other schools around the world, in Sharsheret’s pink day. All the profits MDS made from selling the merchandise will go to Sharsheret, a breast cancer awareness sand support organization. This year we sold a lot of fun pink things including pink lemonade to pink footballs, playing cards, bracelets, bookmarks, pens, rubber ducks, beach balls, even pink mustaches! In fact this year even more money will be donated because we allowed grades 1-3 to buy things and be a part of the Mitzvah. We hope next year we can donate even more money to make breast cancer a thing of the past. Special thanks to the student government and Mrs. Sulimanoff (Miss B) for organizing the event.
