smartLine – One Stop Solution to all the Grinding Tasks

SmartLine is the new standard in precision grinding that covers the entire spectrum of travelling table grinding machines. From simple reciprocation surface grinding through speedstroke, slot and profile grinding, all the way to creep-feed grinding, this machine concept solves every grinding task.
Decades of experience in the production of grinding machines from Elb-Schliff are reflected in the quality of the grinding parts and the very high level of customer satisfaction.
The machine’ s versatile building block system is designed to allow almost any combination of components to solve consumer’ s specific grinding task. With the smartLine grinding machine, workpieces with grinding lengths of 600 to 2,000 mm, widths of 400 mm to 750 mm and heights of 500 to 1,250 mm can be machined. Customers can select main spindles ranging from 5.5 to 60 kilowatt hours.
The machine base and column are made of high-quality and environmental friendly manufactured Microgranite that guarantees optimal damping properties, increased rigidity and high thermal stability which cannot be achieved with any other material. Damping is especially critical for grinding machine.
A variety of special grinding tasks can be fulfilled using the smartLine due to the modular design of the machine series. Customers with a wide range of requirements are- the automotive industry, tool manufacturers, the aerospace industry and many other industries.

At IMTS2018 Jergens INC. features Robotic Automation demonstration of several quick-change workholding systems

At IMTS 2018, Jergens Inc. showcases how the company’ s products can be located and relocated via a robotic demonstration. With these demos, Jergens continues its push for reduced set-up and changeover time by combining automation technologies with standard quickchange solutions such as base plates, risers, top tooling and pallets, including Quick Loc™ hydraulically-actuated pallets.
Performed on a Toshiba TVL 700 robot and a Lyndex-Nikken fiveaxis rotary table, the demonstrations are planned to highlight dramatic improvements in time savings, machine uptime, unmanned applications and ergonomics in cases where operators are managing one or more machining centers.
To see a demonstration visit booth 432154.
