STAFF SPOTLIGHT
Quay Zander
Energy Manager Quay Zander oversees the energy department as it pertains to pricing , contracting , dispatching , and servicing Mid-County customers .
Quay was hired May 7 , 2001 and began his career with Mid- County as a custom applicator in the agronomy department . Quay lives with his wife Nancy on their family farm north of Waverly .
In his spare time , Quay enjoys spending time with family and is passionate about hunting , spending time outdoors , restoring old tractors and taking care of their 100 + year old farm site .
Mark Kelzer
Mark Kelzer ’ s family has been in the trucking industry for decades , starting with his grandfather . For Kelzer , life has come “ full circle ” since he became a driver for Mid-County Energy Jan . 2016 .
His first time working at Mid-County was as part-time shop help in the 1980s . Now that he ’ s back , he ’ s enjoying reconnecting with the customers of the Coop .
As a Waconia resident , Kelzer is well-acquainted with communities and people throughout the region .
Kelzer and his wife have two adult children , one grandson , and one granddaughter . Kelzer said that his family enjoys spending time together at a cabin in Alexandria .
John Morrison
After graduating with a double major in Ag Business and Animal Science at South Dakota State University , John became a Sales Agronomist for Mid-County last September .
John has been busy this past winter working with farmers on their Crop Plans . He also is well versed in Soil Mapping and Variable Rate Technology ( VRT ). This summer he will be busy scouting fields and helping customers grow the best crop they can .
In his free time , John enjoys working with Shorthorn cattle on the farm he grew up on between Cologne and Belle Plaine .
Tony Hallum Meet our Holiday Stationstore manager , Tony Hallum .
Tony has extensive management experience , including about seven years managing other Holiday Stationstores .
“ I enjoy taking care of customers ,” he said . “ You run into some interesting people .” Whether they ’ re local residents getting a car wash on their way home from work , or out-of-state travelers stopping for a quick lunch , Tony likes making customers ’ days a little easier .
“ My goal is to provide a good , clean place for people to get their gas and coffee ,” he said .
When he ’ s not at work , Tony can often be found spending time with his wife , Amy , at their home in Jordan . The couple has been married for 21 years , and Amy works as a department manager at Wal-Mart .
Tony ’ s other interests include golf , woodworking , and reading about history . “ My college degree is actually in history ,” he said .
