Cellar Ridge Construction

During an average day at Cellar Ridge Construction you might find Project Manager, Zack Geary, using recent packaging as a party hat and dancing. You might also find Heather McNutt-Kaestner dancing along with finger guns. Heather is Cellar Ridge's Marketing and Promotions intern for the summer and she fits in like a piece of a puzzle.

During the course of her internship Heather will work on multiple projects. She's planning two open houses, one for the new office and one for Cellar Ridge's Pitney Passive house, which produces more energy than it uses. Heather is also working to create a new straw budget program and create coffee table books. She takes the assignments head on: "I got to lead the meeting the second week of the internship. Cellar Ridge she was given her own office, but chooses to sit near the front door so she can talk to more of her co-workers. Or you could take Heather's word for it: "I love to learn new things and to make myself uncomfortable."

Heather radiates enthusiasm and energy, and she uses this to come at

her work with an attitude that shows her willingness to tackle whatever task she’s given. Some might hesitate to accept responsibility, but Heather is excited about it: "They listen to my opinion and they have high expectations for me. We recognize skill sets that we can give to each other."

While Heather gains marketing skills in her work, there are other aspects she can point to when it comes to professional

development: "I’m already learning problem solving skills. I always ask a lot of questions, but I'm learning to sit there and figure out where a file is by myself." Through the nature of her internship, Heather's also learning about construction: "It’s kind of more of like 'What’s that do-thingy?' and there like 'it’s a so-and-so' and I’m like 'okay!'"
