This well structured workshop is an insight into the
transparent qualities and flow of the watercolour
medium, including the appropriate use of wet-in-wet
underpainting to obtain luminosity and vitality! From
concept, design, along with recommended drawing
methods, participants will be introduced to thoughtful
and creative ways of achieving pleasing qualities to their
work, whilst pursuing the all-important “Big Picture”.
Suitable class demonstrations in two stages will feature
various aspects of landscape, buildings/urban and man -
made objects, as well as figurative works and portraiture.
Each exercise will emphasise light, shape and form, with
appropriate colour possibilities.
General appraisal, teaching

With art as a lifelong profession,
Ross is a leading Australian painter
of landscape. In watercolour, a
medium in which he has excelled
and is most recognised internationally, he has been published
widely throughout Europe and Asia and in China particularly. He
has been constantly invited to exhibit in Biennials worldwide and
to also teach in Europe and China and Australasia. Ross has held
exhibitions in Shanghai, Taiy uan, Qingdao, in China, in France
and in Australia. An experienced trained teacher of Fine Arts he
imparts his knowledge freely and in a clear, concise manner for all
students to understand.
