“Safety isn’t just a procedure for us, it’s a culture deep-rooted within every
function and division of our business. It is our number one priority.”
McDermott International, Inc. is the global
leader in offshore engineering and construction
industry. Through its services, people are
provided with innovative solutions that achieve
the highest industry performance when it came
to ethics, environmental, quality and safety.
Recently, the company celebrated a new
achievement when it reached 50 million man-
hours performed that had no lost time incident
in its Middle East division. According to Linh
Austin of McDermott’s Vice President, Middle
East and Caspian, “Everyone at McDermott had
a part to play in reaching the 50 million man-
hour milestone; it was achieved through mutual
regard for each other and dedicated teamwork.
Safety isn’t just a procedure for us, it’s a culture
deep-rooted within every function and division
of our business. It is our number one priority.”
The new milestone was achieved back in
January 27, 2017 as part of the company’s
program, Taking the Lead. McDermott’s
Operational Values (“MOVs”) were also
implemented, which helped achieve excellent
safety performance. MOVs helped the
company’s employees identify key procedures
and processes that were needed for safety
success. As for the McDermott company
as a whole, it reached one year with no lost
time incident. It included two spool bases,
12 McDermott-owned offshore vessels and
offices located around the world and four global
fabrication facilities.
