POINTS OF DUE
DILIGENCE
staff
1: Decide who will manage and implement H&S duties
Clear lines of responsibility are required for the management of
H&S in the workplace. The overall owner or MD may not, on their
own be enough so a support team can be appointed. However,
these staff must be competent and qualified to undertake the
duties properly on behalf of the employer.
Describe how H&S will be managed in the business and explain to
staff and other relevant parties about your commitment to H&S.
The policy must state clearly who does what, when and how.
3: Manage the Risks in the Business
Consider the potential risks in your business and how you will
minimize and control them. Record these items and the actions
taken within a regularly up-dated Risk Assessment.
4: Consult Employees
