SPONSORED RUN 2013-2014
On Sunday 15th December the Upper School went to the Wadi Degla Protectorate to
run 6KM to help raise money for the Nigerian Orphange Project.
For the last three years the
children of MBIS have helped
provide a new drainage system
and PVC ceiling for the project.
“I really enjoyed the run. I
wish it could have been longer.
It was a bonus that we were
running for charity and could
raise money to help others”.

Thank you to everyone who
gave so generously to support
the Upper School Children.
They have raised a fantastic

Design and Technology
Club
Design and Technology Club are busy
designing and constructing adventure
playgrounds. The models include space
swings, death slides, tunnels of terror
and traditional merry go-rounds!
Mr. Taylor and Miss Denny provide
basic plans and ideas and the children
use these to design their individual
playground equipment.
The children are learning to measure
accurately, read diagrams, follow
instructions as well learning the technical
skills of using clamps, saws and hand
drills. The children are using swing and
elastic band powered mechanisms to
provide movement.
Lara from 5ST said, “ I like to be
creative and use my own ideas. I
enjoy using the different tools to
make my adventure playground.”
“ It’s fun using the saws and
hammers,“ said El Hassan.
Mohammed who has never done a
Design and Technology club before said,
“ I like designing and making things
using my hands.”
