Our International Topic

In Foundation 2 our topic this half term has been
Internationalism. We have found out about the world and it’s
continents as well as looking in depth at: the UK, Pakistan,
Egypt, India and Italy. We have learnt how to say simple
phrases in a variety of languages and really enjoyed Pakistani
and Indian dancing. However what we have enjoyed most is
the FOOD. We have made Paratas from Pakistan, Scones
form the UK, Baladi bread and Foul from Egypt, Raita from Indian and finally Pizza
from Italy.

Photography Workshop

“It is really yummy finding out about different countries.” Said Aiza.
“It was amazing watching the smelly yeast wake up and grow.” Said Seif.
“I like having the Mummies come in and help.” Said Rosie.
I think everyone has had a great time and learnt a lot as our pictures show.
On Sunday the 26th of January a
local photographer Buddy Tolba came
into school to work with the Year 8’s.
During the day he taught them the
importance of composition within
their photographs, using some of his
own work as examples. After learning
some basics the pupils went out and
took some photos of their own using
the techniques they’d been taught.
They had fun collecting images
before returning in the afternoon and
learning how to best edit their photos
after some personal feedback from
