Students consider creative ways of solving a
team challenge before finalizing their concept.
STUDENT STORY
What did you find most valuable about the
challenge learning approach?
Understanding myself and my own strengths and
weaknesses in relation to the Hult DNA was
groundbreaking for me. Knowing what to work
on and what to keep doing is incredibly valuable.
Hult was the place that showed me that there’s
no limit to what you can achieve.
What were your key learnings?
Being humble, not always insisting your own
viewpoint is the right one, and giving space to
others are essential, both in the business
environment and also in life. It was my first time
working with people from different cultures. In the
beginning it was overwhelming, but soon you realize
there’s more than one way to do things, and you
can learn so much from your classmates. Having a
growth mindset is what will trigger the capabilities
within yourself to be able to achieve whatever you
want in life.
EXAMPLE ENTREPRENEURIAL CHALLENGE
Create a new entrepreneurial
venture for a for-profit business.
Solving for investment
Students at Hult Dubai were challenged to
set their own problem to solve as creatively
as possible through a new business idea.
Their business plan had to be highly
competitive, as they were pitching for
investment to a panel of judges that
included the CEO of bfound.io, one of the
most data-driven startups in the U.A.E.
Test your hypotheses and tackle the
problem from multiple angles.
How has this helped you professionally?
I’m sure it opened doors for me even while I was still
at Hult. I moved from Peru to Dubai for the MBA
and had a job offer with PwC there even before I’d
finished the program.
EXAMPLE INNOVATION CHALLENGE
Create a disruptive business
model leveraging digital
technologies.
Solving for sustainability
Students in Hult Boston were asked to
research and propose a sustainable,
disruptive business model for a world-
leading industrial manufacturer, leveraging
new digital technologies to increase
market share.
