What applications other than those mentioned in the chapter are there for RFID tags? What must happen in order for the use of RFID to become more widespread?
Some applications not mentioned in the book that RFID tags can be very helpful for are food items, specifically foods that people would be interested in know the nutritional facts, large book collections, and large collections of items (such as baseball cards or State Quarters).
In order for RFID to become more widespread, the price has to come down. It is just way too expensive for the average person to use. Also, uniform data standards need to be established between countries who have different radio frequencies.
