Considering that in Mexico and throughout the world there are traditions and customs , some are more famous than others and also on some occasions they become international traditions , such as Christmas , of course not everyone celebrates this tradition but most do , some people don ' t celebrate it because their culture may not allow it .
A custom is a set of practices or habits that are acquired through repetition and perseverance . They are part of their individual idiosyncrasy and their family identity , regional or national , they are also forms of behavior shared by a community and that distinguish it from others .
They are transmitted from generation to generation orally , through practice or as institutions . If established long enough , customs become traditions . The transmission of customs , behaviors , memories , symbols , beliefs , legends , for the people of a community , and what is transmitted becomes part of the culture . An example of a custom that we have here in Mexico and that we celebrate in a big way is the Day of the Dead , celebrating life and death in our tradition that has been transcendent for years .
