"At Christ Church we saw Jewish Believers in Jesus, Arab Believers and Gentile Believers from many denominations working together, praying together, worshipping together and in some cases even marrying each other. This was so contrary to what is often presented in the mainstream media. So we became involved with the work of Christ Church," added Aaron.
For Sharon, one of the reasons she joined CMJ was for their firm Biblical support for the Jewish People.
Sharon commented, "Paul reminds us in Romans 15 that Christians owe the Jewish People a debt for what they have received from them with the riches of the Bible."
Before working with CMJ, Sharon and Aaron both personally supported Aliyah efforts after the collapse of the Iron Curtain.
Sharon did so with her Church involved in the process and Aaron did so independently. In addition to their personal and organizational support through CMJ, Aaron and Sharon shared that they were also drawn to Israel strongly because of what the Bible states about Israel.
"After getting involved in education, I started to see that many Christians had no care for Israel. For many Christians, the Old Testament was something we got a passage from once or twice a year and usually way out of its context. That was when I realized that replacement theology had taken root in the Church. I would share Israel with my colleagues and the response uncovered the deep seated replacement theology, the Jewish Roots meant nothing more other than Jesus was a Jew and that the church had superseded Israel," said Sharon.
Aaron started digging more into the foundations of the Faith after he and his wife visited a Lutheran Church in Vancouver and saw a Canadian and Israeli flag guarding the Altar.
