The money is to go to a project to support the body of Jewish believers in Israel. Marty looked to Isaiah 14 as a backing for what they were doing.
For the Lord will have mercy on Jacob, and will yet choose Israel, and set them in their own land: and the strangers shall be joined with them, and they shall cleave to the house of Jacob. Marty also quoted Isaiah 49 verse 22 – Thus said the Lord God, Behold, I will lift up mine hand to the Gentiles, and set up my standard to the people: and they shall bring they sons in their arms, and they daughters shall be carried upon their shoulders.
Marty added, “There is a beautiful picture of those from the nations helping to bring the Jewish people to their own land.”
He continued, “We’re in Canada called to serve the Jewish people. Thinking that we are called to serve the Jewish people to be servants is not a bad lot. Sometimes well-meaning Christians come to Israel with money and want to do good for the Jewish people, which isn’t bad. As an Israeli myself, maybe we have come to a place where instead of Christians from outside doing their own thing, perhaps it is time to come alongside believers in the land to support what God is doing with us.”
