Una de las particularidades más importantes de Mayakoba la cons-
tituyen sus canales, que hacen de este destino un lugar verdadera-
mente único e inolvidable. Una veintena de encantadoras y silenciosas
lanchas eléctricas conectan por esta vía los diferentes hoteles (que
tienen sus respectivos muelles), las residencias y el campo de golf El
Camaleón. A lo largo del día se ofrecen recorridos en bote para co-
nocer todo el complejo o admirar las especies de pájaros, anfibios,
peces y mamíferos que habitan este singular ecosistema.
CANAL WAYS
Mayakoba’s canals are its most distinctive feature, and they make the resort
a truly unique and unforgettable destination. The 20 or so charming, noise-
less electric motorboats that ply these waterways connect the various ho-
tels (each with its own dock), private homes and El Camaleón golf course.
All day long, boat tours provide a chance to take in the entire complex and
discover some of the types of birds, amphibians, fish and mammals that live
in this unique ecosystem.

El terreno en toda la península de Yucatán se caracteriza por sus gran-
des concentraciones de piedra caliza, que por ser muy permeable
propicia la formación de ríos subterráneos y los peculiares cenotes.
Dentro del predio de Mayakoba hay registrados cuatro cenotes: dos
ubicados en el campo de golf (hoyos 1 y 18), otro en el spa Sense de
Rosewood y el cuarto, conocido como El Burródromo, que se puede
recorrer en una visita guiada, para observar sus estalactitas y estalagmi-
tas, además de ver de cerca a los cientos de murciélagos que allí habitan.
CENOTE TERRITORY
All over the Yucatán Peninsula, the ground contains a wealth of lime-
stone, which being highly permeable, has led to the formation of un-
derground rivers and the region’s extraordinary cenotes. There are four
such sinkholes on the grounds of Mayakoba: two located on the golf
course (at holes 1 and 18), another at the Rosewood Sense spa and a
fourth, known as El Burródromo, has guided tours that take visitors to
see the stalactites and stalagmites, as well as the hundreds of bats who
call it home.
