Cindy is working with 2 rule petitions , if you are a President or Secretary of a saddle club , the Rulebook committee is seeking signatures for those petitions . These petitions are for Ranch Horse and Walk / Trot .

Board Meeting Minutes
The scholarship application form is on the website as well as in the spotlight . The deadline for application is May 1 st , 2024 . Julie asked that those in attendance share the scholarship program with those they know graduating or continuing education . Dorrene Marroquin ( Cannon Falls Ridge Riders ) reminded those in attendance that purchasing a Coliseum box during Champ show benefits the Scholarship program .
Anne presented on the Minnesota High School Equestrian Association ( MHSEA ). MHSEA assists High School students in earning a Varsity letter for their Equine participation . They have a good success rate on working with athletic directors of schools in getting these students the credit they deserve . This year , MHSEA is offering a scholarship program to its members . Anne thanks WSCA and Lynn-Ellen for the opportunity to share their mission . More information can be found on their website .
The 2025 Champ Show will not be able to be held at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds , due to a remodel of the coliseum . The champ show committee has been working hard in addition to planning 2024 Champ Show , to secure a location for 2025 Champ show , and will continue to remain in contact with WSCA members . Meg Sax ( MQHA ) asked if the committee is working with any other organizations to look into venues . James shared that WSCA will be working closely with MN 4H , as they rely on us for stalls , and any locations that work for them will work for WSCA and vice versa . Paul Miller ( Bootjack Saddle Club ) asked if the committee knows what the coliseum will look like after the project is complete . James replied with , no , but will be closely monitoring the situation .
The Board is working through a 2024 Strategic Plan , which includes ways to improve WSCA . The key areas of improvement are : -Youth Advisory Board , to secure the future of WSCA and promote youth involvement -Health of WSCA committee , started in 2019 , picking it back up to help saddle clubs with common issues -Entry System change -2024 Awards banquet . The 2024 Awards Banquet will be held Saturday , October 26 th at the Monticello Community Center . There will be a block of hotel rooms reserved for those traveling . The agenda for the event will be 3 pm General Meeting , 4:30-6 pm social hour , 6 pm dinner , and 7pm awards followed by entertainment . The WSCF will be working with the Awards banquet planning committee on a silent auction as a fundraiser for WSCF . -Working with Herald Journal to streamline our website
Julie Gintner would like to extend a thank-you to Evelyn Morehouse for all her work she has done as Qualifications Coordinator over the years , as she steps down and helps train in Natali Steffensen . Kevin Berger ( Jus ’ Kiddin Around ) extended a thank you to the Board for their transparency in sharing their Strategic Plan with the delegates and WSCA members . Bella Witucki ( Painted Sunrise Saddle Club ) wanted to bring up the question of the possibility of offering the Royalty contest to boys interested in representing WSCA . James replied that it is a topic open for discussion at a Board meeting .
