COMPANY SPOTLIGHT – MecWash MecWash delivers spotless cleaning for 20 years MecWash Systems Ltd specialises in the design and manufacture of a complete range of precision aqueous cleaning and degreasing systems for metal and plastic engineering components. Its capabilities include laboratory analysis of complex component cleaning issues and specifying or developing specialist detergents, plus the ability to design special processes and parts washers for particularly difficult cleaning challenges. MecWash specialises in achieving high cleanliness standards for components with intricate geometries, difficult substrates or tenacious contaminants. Its parts washers support the full range of engineering processes, including machined castings, forgings, turned parts, pressings, extrusions and mouldings. MecWash is based in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire, making it accessible from the M5 and within easy reach of both Birmingham and Bristol airports. Its purpose built facilities comprise a machine manufacturing plant and a laboratory where all chemical formulation projects take place. Technology The company currently offers seven standard aqueous cleaning machines, all built to different specifications. From the streamlined Solo 300 which is ideal for applications requiring a simple spray wash where there’s limited space, to the Maxi 600, the largest standard machine currently available, MecWash offers complete systems designed to fit in all manufacturing facilities. The independently owned company is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year and a number of its original machines are still in daily operation today, including a MecWash MPS (Multi-Purpose System) 400 which was installed for the Pegler Yorkshire Group in 1994. MecWash systems are now used by customers throughout Europe as well as the USA, China, India, Indonesia, Thailand and Australia. MecWash employs a dedicated PhD chemist to determine the best process and chemical mix for individual circumstances. MecWash uses the latest technology to ensure a superior clean is achieved by all of its machines. Features offered include spray and immersion washing, continuous rotation to ensure a constant flushing action, ultrasonics, rotational direct jetting of blind holes and concealed galleries, and hot air and vacuum drying. All of MecWash’s machines are designed to integrate seamlessly with other handling and ancillary equipment. From manual roller conveyors, scissor lifts, load tables and cooling tunnels, to fully automated loading and unloading systems; each installation can be tailored to meet precise handling requirements.
