this year was no exception. I figured there would be at least 5 of us and when lunch started there were actually 11. As we started chatting before lunch, I asked how Ron Gross was doing and BAM, just like that, he walked in the room! For most of us being PDA president was one of the highlights of our professional careers. Each person had their own challenges during their terms. Mine was a brand-new form of governance. Some had to deal with legislative issues, amalgam issues, two served during the pandemic( including Jim Tauberg who never had an in-person board meeting), hiring a new executive director, selling PDAIS, concerns about a“ pair of dimes,” and we all had the constant challenge of maintaining our membership market share. It was a wonderful group to break bread with and catch up. I look forward to welcoming Ted Rockwell next year at Bedford Springs!
Time for me to wrap this novel up as Mary and I need to get the car packed for another trip to Annapolis to watch those three boys while their parents jet off to Nashville for some fun!
