Pawsitive Pediatric Dentistry
Dr . Milca Mendez-Ceballos of Pawsitive Pediatric Dentistry in Ephrata and her dental operations assistant , Caidyn Leed , held presentations at the Ephrata Public Library and some local daycares . At the presentations they discussed the importance of taking care of children ’ s dental health starting at a young age .
They were able to educate approximately 100 children ranging from ages 1-5 .
We sang , read , talked about good snacks for our teeth and had a great time !”

Mechanicsburg Family Dentistry
On February 16 , Drs , Zachary Kishbaugh and Keyu Zhao and six of their hygienists at Mechanicsburg Family Dentistry ( MFD ) held their annual “ Kids Day ” event , where they were able to see 40 children .
MFD has long celebrated NCDHM , having held many events and presentations at daycares and preschools throughout the past decade . In the past , the doctors and hygienists first provided informative discussions and bags equipped with dental supplies and worksheets . The practice later transitioned to having children from preschools and daycares come to them on a “ field trip .” During the field trips , the children would get a tour of the facility , saw how the exam chairs work , counted their teeth , learned how to do impressions with their thumbs , and received prizes of dental supplies and arts and crafts .
Kids Day is usually held on a Friday or Saturday , where it is all about the kids . This year , they had four games set up where children could collect tickets to enter to win gift cards , an electric toothbrush , or the ability to pie the two doctors in the face ! The children had an arts and crafts station set up and a photo booth to use while they waited for their turn and were also given a variety of toys to choose from on their way out .
Kids Day is one of my favorite days in the office ,” Dr . Kishbaugh said .
“ So many people come into the office saying they ‘ hate the dentist ’ so it ’ s always nice to see everyone enjoying their visits and realizing that a visit to the dentist doesn ’ t have to be as scary as people think .”
Dr . Zhao is the newest doctor at the office and had a great experience .
“ I had a lot of fun at my first Kids Day event . As a kid who was terrified of the dentist growing up , it was wonderful to create a good first impression with the kiddos and be a part of a fun memory for them .”
