The Alliance of Lancaster County Dental Society
Even in the midst of a pandemic , good deeds go on ! On Saturday , Feb . 27 , the Alliance to the Lancaster County Dental Society found a way to hold its annual Dental Kit Stuffing Event with the help of the Scouts of Troop 84 , based out of St Peter ’ s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Neffsville . The Lancaster Alliance holds this event every year in honor of Children ’ s Dental Health Month , and was determined to find a way to continue this charitable tradition , even with COVID-19 restrictions . Precautions were observed : the number of participants was limited ; helpers distanced themselves from one another ; and everyone wore masks . Even so , all the Scouts had a good time and received goodie bags with snacks to take and eat at home . Each of the dental kits contained a toothbrush , dental floss , toothpaste and mouth wash . Over 1,000 kits were put together and delivered by alliance members to needy area organizations throughout the county of Lancaster .
The Lancaster Alliance was also still able to pull off its annual poster contest to celebrate Children ’ s Dental Health Month . The winners in the contest each received a ribbon , a cash prize , and had their picture taken ( safely !) with their dentist . All pictures were displayed in the dentists ’ offices for the month of February .

PDA would like to thank our member dentists , teachers , nurses and dental hygienists for the continued success of the promotion of NCDHM . Promoting awareness to children and families in their local communities is valuable gift . A special thank you goes to PDA ’ s statewide NCDHM Chair , Dr . Samer Mansour for his continued support and enthusiasm for endorsing NCDHM .
