National Children’s Dental Health Month 2020
An Ordinary Beginning
with a Very Unusual Ending
Community Events
Sixth District
Central Susquehanna Valley
Dr. Albert Stush and staff in the Central Susquehanna
Valley visit the Meadowbrook Christian School
each year. They talked to the children about the
importance of protecting their teeth with fluoride,
played a few games and handed out toothbrushes,
floss and toothpaste to all.
Eighth District
In Dubois, several members and their staff worked together to
provide education to patients and children. The dental teams of
Dr. Jonathan Cole, Dr. Mike Spence, Dr. Tom Petraitis and Dr. Nate
Cole and staff members provided display boards about topics such
as sugar, acids, orthodontics, sealants, orofacial myofunctional
therapy, oral cancer, snuff, e-cigarettes, brushing, flossing, fluoride
and healthy snacks. Tattoos, face paints, helium balloons and stickers
were distributed. In addition, they provided oral hygiene instructions
and 5% fluoride applications. This combined group of members also
raffled off two Sonicare Electric Toothbrushes.
Thank You for Volunteering
PDA would like to thank our member dentists for the continued
success of the promotion of NCDHM. From promoting awareness
to children and families in their local communities to sponsoring
events and activities, the efforts of our members are valuable and
appreciated. A special thank you goes to PDA’s statewide NCDHM
Chair, Dr. Samer Mansour for his continued support and enthusiasm
for endorsing NCDHM.
We are always looking for suggestions to improve and increase
the participation from our schools. Please send your ideas to
mmb@padental.org. Thank you in advance.
