Awa rds & A chievement s Temple Student Elected ASDA Vice President Alex Mitchell, Temple University Kornberg School of Dentistry ’18, was elected 2017-18 vice president of the American Student Dental Association (ASDA) during the ASDA Annual Meeting in Orlando, Fla. Mitchell completed a term as District 3 trustee while also serving as president of the Temple ASDA chapter. Previously, he held positions as District 3 predental liaison and Temple class representative. Since 2016, Mitchell has been a student repres entative to Temple’s admissions committee, collaborating with faculty and administrators to assess and select qualified dental school applicants. He served as ASDA liaison to the ADA’s Council on Ethics, Bylaws and Judicial Affairs and was a member of the ASDA delegation to the 2016 ADA Annual Session. As an undergraduate, he founded the Allegheny College Predental Society. He is a volunteer at Mission of Mercy and the Philly Oral Cancer Run. Another Temple dental student, Justin Le (Class of 2019), was recently honored as ASDA’s District 3 Delegate of the Year at the ASDA Annual Meeting. Le is Temple’s incoming ASDA president. In addition, he has held positions on ASDA District 3’s presidential council and district meetings team and serves as the class of 2019’s treasurer. As a native Californian, Le hopes to continue exploring the East Coast through his involvement in organized dentistry, such as community outreach events like Mission of Mercy. Niro has previously served as Temple ASDA Vice President, while also serving on the Support and Development Team for District 3. She has also held positions as Temple class representative and the Vice President of the Institute for Healthcare Improvement. As an undergraduate she was President of the Pre-Allied Health Society, volunteered as a tutor in the Pediatrics Department at Cooper University Hospital, and graduated Magna Cum Laude at Rowan University.
