Go modular with your furniture. Sectionals that can be assembled in a variety of arrangements are versatile superstars. BY RACHEL HALLIWELL
W
hen you think of a large furniture item,“ flexible” might not be the first word that springs to mind. Unless, that is, you’ re referring to modular seating – furniture that enables you to rearrange your living space with minimal effort while achieving maximum impact.
Modular sectionals are, as the name suggests, made up of sections that can be configured in various ways, enabling you to alter and update the layout of a room according to what you want to do in it.
Their flexibility allows you to make the most of an awkward corner or unused space. If your room is small, you can have your seating skimming the walls in an L-shape; in open-plan spaces, sections can work as dividers.
