meaning, it feels grounded and authentic.” Kerrie-Ann echoes this, reinforcing the power of personal pieces over curated ones.“ Your home should reflect you, not a showroom,” she says.“ Make your space yours – the simplest and most honest version.”
Connect with feelings
“ Forget trends and ask yourself: when I walk through my front door after a long day, how do I want to feel?” says Claire.“ Calm? Energised? Cosy? Connected? That emotional goal becomes your guide.”
Kerrie-Ann points to colour choice as a key tool.“ Your colour palette helps create the feeling of a home,” she continues.“ For example, you might want to create a calming bedroom space, so it’ s best to look for colours that reflect that particular feeling for you, which might be blues and greens. We need to consider our emotions and feelings when designing spaces so they align with who we are and how we want to feel.”

Embrace small changes
Style changes don’ t have to be permanent – you can try an idea out then rethink it.“ Research and explore how and where you can find pieces to create the look and feel you want,” says Kerrie-Ann.“ Then experiment with how you style them in your home. For example, an armchair you like might not only be used in the living room, but also moved to a corner in your bedroom as a reading nook.
“ It’ s about discovering what you like and then experimenting with how to make it your own in your home.”
Claire adds it’ s smart to start small.“ Restyle one bookshelf,” she suggests.“ Paint one wall. Swap lamps between rooms. You don’ t have to change everything at once. Let your home evolve.”

for an item then styling it in your home. Styling is a creative process and one to be enjoyed.”
Practically perfect
The things we love aren’ t always functional, so consider how changes will impact the way your family lives.“ A home that reflects you must also work for real life,” says Claire.“ Kids, pets, sandy feet, sport bags at the door … Durable fabrics, comfortable seating and smart storage are just as important as aesthetics.”
Bringing together your personal inspiration while ensuring you make space for your stage of life can help create a home that reflects who you are and the way you want to live.
