NATIONAL RECONCILIATION WEEK
27 May – 3 June
The independent, not-for-profit organisation Reconciliation Australia coordinates the annual National Reconciliation Week. This year’ s theme is All In for Reconciliation, spreading the message that everyone can contribute to and benefit from positive relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous peoples. The theme also reflects that Australians from multicultural backgrounds are strongly in support of reconciliation. According to CEO Karen Mundine,“ Many people among Australia’ s migrant communities have a thirst for understanding the full history of the nation they now call home.” To get involved, visit Reconciliation Australia at reconciliation. org. au for information and to discover activities and events in your area. As Reconciliation Australia teaches:“ Reconciliation will not happen by itself, and it will not happen without all of us.”
