Iluka ' s highgrade rare earths resource at Eneabba could help establish Iluka as an important long-term global supplier . If Iluka can develop a solution to successfully remove impurities from zircon at the Wimmera deposit , it could have a long-term source of mined supply in addition to the Eneabba stockpiles . The Eneabba stockpiles provide about 10 years ' worth of rare earths ore assuming average production of about 18,000 tonnes of monazite concentrate a year . Iluka is exploring the potential to develop a rare earths refinery at Eneabba . If established , it would represent an important diversification of global supply away from China , which accounts for about 85 % of the world ' s production .
