THE FINE PRINT: Rhode Island Monthly asked Rhode Island licensed MDs and DOs to vote for doctors they would trust to care for their family and friends in a range of specialties. Rhode Island Monthly contracted
DataJoe Research to conduct

for collecting, vetting and tallying the votes. Any doctor who has been disciplined for an infraction by the R. I. Board of Medical Licensure & Discipline was excluded from the results. Finally, DataJoe presented the tallied results to RIM for final review and adjustments. Rhode Island Monthly narrowed down the list to doctors who received at least nine votes in each category. If doctors in a particular category did not achieve at least nine votes, then we lowered the count to six in order to list the category. Some doctors may practice in more than one specialty. The specialties listed are the categories in which the doctors achieved the required number of votes to make our Top Doctors list. Research assistance by Jason Simon.
