In Memoriam
Leonard Labonia, 70, passed away on Jan. 31, in Oak Ridge, NJ, due to complications from cancer. Labonia graduated from Union County College before starting his career in the commercial laundry business. He retired from White Plains Linen in 2023. Survivors include his wife, Emilie, two daughters, Dana and Alysse, and three grandchildren. A service was held in Sparta, NJ, on Feb. 5. All donations are asked to be directed to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
Mark Hodson, 56, passed away on Feb. 5. He joined JP Equipment in August 2018 and was known for his craftsmanship and dedication as a painter and bodywork specialist. Hodson supported his teammates and played an important role in maintaining the high standards of JP Equipment.

Medico Unveils New SoCal Plant Medico Healthcare Linen Service, Los Angeles, recently marked the grand opening of its new facility in San Bernardino, CA. An April 15 ribbon-cutting ceremony drew local leaders, executives from the parent company and plant staff. San Bernardino Mayor Helen Tran and City Council Member Mario Flores attended the event and spoke briefly before Medico COO Greg Shames cut the ribbon to open the new plant. The

NYC Health Upgrades Linen Management NYC Health + Hospitals, New York, and Sodexo recently completed a five-year project to upgrade linen management machines, installing 193 alEx Linen Centers across 11 hospitals to reduce excess linen use. The machines monitor inventory by weight, allow only authorized users, and automatically send restocking alerts when supplies are low. The new machines help systems operate more efficiently with a reported 55 % decrease in linen usage per visit in each hospital’ s emergency department during the project’ s first phase.
